Link Posting Review – Differentiate Between Work And Scam

Editor’s Rating: 7/10

Simple enough, the basic concept of these kind of jobs is to earn money by posting links of the company that would pay you to do so. However, as simple as it sounds, a link posting job that comes from a legitimate company actually requires a gigantic amount of work, effort, time, and no doubt, commitment. If there is any company who offers you otherwise, you must be extra careful as that would most likely be a scam. So how do we tell if a link posting job is a scam or not? I will definitely talk about it later.

As for now, let’s get into the details. When did they start the idea of this business, what exactly does one need to do to actually earn money in this industry, how much of a commitment are we talking about here, and who is suitable for this particular job opportunity?

Background of the creation of link posting jobs

Well it started of because of a system Google had in the past. Back in the days, Google preferred websites which had a high amount of links, which they called “backlinks”, pointed towards the websites more. It was known that if a particular website has plentiful of backlinks pointing towards them, it meant that the website is famous, valuable and prestigious.

When Google prefers a website more, it is certainly beneficial to the company of the website. Why is that so? This is because when there are more backlinks that point towards a website, and as Google prefers it more hence providing this website a higher ranking compared to the other website that do not have as much of backlinks, the website gets more famous and more people would be visiting the website. Following that, the more visitors the website has, the more products are to be bought by the visitors, as well as the more advertisements clicked by the visitors, thus leading to the website earning more money compared to those who do not have as many backlinks. This is why the companies and online businesses who own websites would pay for people to post links that bring visitors of other websites to theirs.

Nonetheless, I have mentioned that this is the past because this strategy does not work as well as before now. As there were companies who violated this system, attracting people to their purposeless, impractical websites, Google had lowered the value of backlinks and changed their ranking factors. In other words, backlinks do not really help anymore.

In spite of that, it is still a legitimate way to help boost the popularity of a website if it is done correctly, and if the website is in fact invaluable. Building genuine backlinks from trusted and valid websites, showcasing useful contents and materials, and not abusing the system of Google’s would be a correct and better path in making the website successful.

Nowadays, link posting jobs work another way, which is known as affiliate marketing.

How do link posting jobs work? Answer: AFFILIATE MARKETING

I am pretty sure most people who are interested in venturing into the internet marketing industry would definitely have heard about affiliate marketing. So, what is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is defined as a marketing arrangement by which an online retailer pays commission to an external website for traffic or sales generated from its referrals. In other words, affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards their affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliates own marketing efforts,

In this industry, there are 4 core players. This includes the merchant, also known as the retailer or brand, the network that contains offer for the affiliate to choose from plus taking care of the payment, the affiliate, also known as the publisher, and most importantly, the customer.

The market has become more complicated with the emergence of a secondary tier of players, including affiliate management agencies, super-affiliates, and specialized third party vendors. Affiliate marketing overlaps with other Internet marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates often use regular advertising methods. Those methods include the followings below.

  • Organic search engine optimization (SEO)
  • Paid search engine marketing (PPC-Pay Per Click)
  • E-mail marketing
  • Content marketing
  • Display marketing

Apart from that, affiliates sometimes use other less conservative techniques, such as publishing reviews of products or services offered by a partner.

Affiliate marketing is usually confused with referral marketing because both of these marketing system use third parties to boost sales to the company. However, affiliate marketing is definitely different from referral marketing as it promotes sales based on commissions for the affiliate but the later relies more on trust and personal relationships.

All in all, how a person could earn money in link posting jobs through affiliate marketing is to be the affiliate of the company and post the company’s advertisement and link in their website. When the customers are referred to the companies through the affiliates, there would be commission given.

Affiliate marketing is said to be better than the white-collar work as not only one will have an unlimited income potential, but also to help the retailer to become more successful, as a result bringing us a win-win situation for both parties.

Do I need to pay anything to be involved in link posting jobs?

This actually depends on the company. There are times when the companies would request their affiliates to attend courses and programmes that teaches people about marketing in this industry. There are also matters like memberships and products that the affiliates need to burn their wallets for in order to sign up to be the companies affiliate, or to be eligible to sell the product. Unfortunately, most of these that request you to pay even before earning money from them are usually scammers

Who is suitable for this job?

Anyone who is interested in this industry is more than welcome to go for this link posting job. Nevertheless, we should never be half-hearted when we get involved in anything. Commitment is absolutely needed for any job, including link posting jobs. One should really dedicate into this if he or she wants to make big money out of this job as succeeding in this job is no easy task.

In addition to that, we also need to be extra careful when it comes to link posting jobs because there is a high chance that it is a scam. Extra precautions should be taken, especially when you are offered something that is too good to be true. For example, instead of the difficult ways like affiliate marketing which I have mentioned earlier, a big warning sign is that you are only asked to literally post links. After all, who would just give you money for such an easy work.

Are these link posting jobs legitimate? Or is it just a big scam?

There are real companies and online businesses that offer legitimate link posting jobs. One famous affiliate that we can take as an example is Kim Kardashian. If you have gone through her accounts, you would notice that she posts links quite often. This is one of the ways to earn many through affiliate marketing.

Nonetheless, truth be told, most of the link posting jobs are just part of the huge scams that the wicked execute to con people’s money. The scammers often get a hold of their victims’ money by requesting the victims to pay in advance, and sometimes, it actually costs A LOT! Hence, for those who are interested in this field, you really need to be extremely wise when deciding on taking up a job like this.

Now, since I kept saying that we need to be cautious when it comes to link posting jobs, it definitely brings us to the question again, how exactly do we know if it is actually a scam or not?

How to spot Link Posting Job Scams?

Jobs that offer you BIG money fast without much work required

If the job you are interested in tends to offer a large sum of money, you should be careful about it. Most of the time, when something is too good to be true, it is usually just a scam. If you REALLY want to earn big money fast, you would either have to work 100+ hours a week or make large investments, just to get started.

There is no easy road when it comes to earning big money and getting super wealthy. It will take a lot of time and you would have to make tough decisions that may make you feel uncomfortable at the time, but reap rewards in the future. Nobody is just going to give you a lot of money out of nowhere with no minimal effort put in. Therefore, you should be very cautious whenever you encounter unbelievable offers from link posting jobs.

You need to make payments to be eligible for the job

As stated before, some link posting job offers require you to purchase a form of course, program or product to work for them. That is usually a clear warning sign that you should avoid and stay away from them. Even if you have read positive reviews of the company or product of the job offer, you have to remember that some of the reviews are affiliated with them and are being paid to advocate the product. As a result, you should be very mindful when consulting reviews.

Fake owners with fake stories

Some link posting job scams have fake stories like,

“I am just a single stay-at-home mum and I found an opportunity that makes me easily earn $9,335/month. You can do it too!”

This is usually followed by an image taken from a photo bank which paints a clear picture of the fake system.

Not to mention, there are in fact legitimate stories of people who are caregivers that stay at home and do earn a decent amount of money. However, this is comparingly rare, and they would usually clarify that it takes them a gigantic amount of effort and time that requires them to always be working. It is possible for anyone as well, as long as you put in the solid hours of work, but be careful of link posting job scams that post stories that are too good to be true.

Here is one useful tip to check if it is a fake story or not. All you need to do is just simply copy a section of the story without the name, and then paste it in the Google search bar. Sometimes, if it is a made up story, you could actually get results of multiple people with different names but the exact same story with the same words!

A good example is the story of a single mum who has 2 kids and needs to stay at home. If you have seen this story, try using this tip of copy and paste. You would definitely find many other mothers with the copied and pasted stories, as well as the same old picture with same poses, same number of “models”, and the slight changes like hair colour. To think about it, if you have discovered a scam like this, it is something that give you a great laugh.

Seek advice from experienced online entrepreneurs, especially those that are your real friends that does not want your money

It is always wise to ask people who are online entrepreneurs that you know and can trust. Becoming an online entrepreneur is gaining popularity and many people are starting to become a part of it. Furthermore, there are many journalists online that can guide you through determining between the link posting job scams and the real ones.

Final verdict

In a nutshell, link posting job scams can be really common and you have to be wary of sites and companies that are suspicious. Please do avoid too-good-to-be-true advertisements that offer large sums of money for almost no effort at all. If the company or site requires you to purchase any form of product, that is a clear red flag and you should stay clear from it. Remember that stories and reviews could not be fully trusted as they got be associating with the company offering the job. Their job is to manipulate you and convince you to buy their products or force you into the scam, making you spend money on a job instead of earning it.

Nonetheless, there are still some legitimate link posting jobs out there, but you should definitely do tons of research regarding that job before stepping into it.
